Volunteering with us

Thai dancing is very much part of our culture - something that every child should know about.

We run classes for all the children who want to join in. They are led by one of our teachers who taught Thai dancing professionally until the tsunami.

Our older children are now so good that we give performances around the area as well as entertaining guests visit our events at Home & Life.

The younger children also take part in the performances, usually in the folk or modern style.

Everyone has a lot of fun and Home & Life is paid for the performances, part of our projects aimed at making us self-sustaining instead of relying on the kindness of others all the time.

The training has been hard but rewarding work for the children and for Patida 'Kate' Boonshup, the teacher, and in addition elaborate costumes and accessories have had to be made.

Now the performances are as professional as commercial dance teams - and those who book them know they are helping the children and Home & Life to survive.

If you would like to inquire about or book a performance, please telephone Bhudit Maneejak ('Root') on 0819513237 or email him at homelifethailand@yahoo.com
