It's not easy making ends meet - often it means taking the children round to good-hearted donors, like the temple (photo right), to ask for help.

These are some of the costs to be met every month (at the time of writing, one euro = 41.74 baht, US$1 = 30.79 baht and UK£ = 49.45 baht; or see today's exchange rates)

Food: 40,000 baht

School fees: 13,200 baht

School materials: 10,000 baht

Truck fuel: 15,000 baht

Electricity: 3,000 baht

Pocket money (including school meals): 13,000 baht

Birthdays & outings: 3,000 baht

Additionally, cash has to be found for clothes and shoes, maintenance of the home and staff pay.
