Fish is important to the children's diet - and it can be expensive in the quantities that we use. So we have built, with the help of volunteers, a fish farm where we can keep catfish and other fish. They are fast growing and we can use most of them in our own kitchen and sell any surplus at the market. We have two ponds and, at the moment, 800 catfish and several hundred other fish are being farmed. Like the organic garden, the fish farm will not meet all our requirements but it will help. Many small projects can make a big difference altogether. |
