Handicraft is something we enjoy doing, something that we would do for ourselves - now we also do it to sell to others. This project is another step on the way to being self-sufficient and it gives valuable lessons to the children, both in making items and in seeing how this kind of venture is run. It is also the kind of thing that many Thai families do to help earn enough money to live: here we are doing the same. This is what we make and sell: Lanterns that rise into the night sky when the fuel block is lit Necklaces, bracelets and wristbands that all the girls like. And some of the boys too... Aprons for men and for women ... anyone can wear them Shoulder bags with our slogan on them: Let's Save The World Paintings and postcards - all our own work! Home & Life's Handicraft Project also sells T-shirts in various designs and sizes, including some big enough for foreign visitors. One of the favourites has on it the slogan Let's Save The World and a drawing of an elephant (picure right). If you want to see any of these, call in at Home & Life, telephone Bhudit Maneejak ('Root') on 0819513237 or email him at homelifethailand @yahoo.com During the tourist season, you will find the children selling their products at the Bang Niang Saturday afternoon market ... stop by and help them develop their selling techniques!
